As per according to the reports, the Yamaha Pakistan is increasing its bike prices from 15th August 2018. Yamaha is planning to expand the bike prices by PKR 2000. In May, Yamaha sold on with around 2,435 bike units while in June, Yamaha sold on with the range of about 1,978 bike units. As we all know the fact that the bike prices are increasing continuously in Pakistan, the local bike market is booming as well. Bike sales surged to the range of around 26% on year to year basis. Last year in June bike manufacturers sold on with about 102,207 units while this year in June bike manufacturers shipped with approximately 128,976 bikes.
Apart from Yamaha Pakistan, Suzuki Pakistan and Atlas Honda increased bike rates up to PKR 6,500 and PKR 5,000, respectively. At the same time, this is for the fourth time in 2018 that Pak Suzuki has brought on with the rise in the prices. The new rates were effective from 1st August 2018. The maximum car price increase was in favor of the Mehran VXR of PKR 45,000. A notification at the same time issued to all dealerships with updated price and date. The main reason why automakers are increasing the rates is that of the devaluation of the rupee against the dollar.
After the election,s the rupee has gained strength against the dollar and now it seems unclear as on the fact that why the automakers and bike manufacturers are increasing the prices yet again. Do you think that the automakers are making the profit just by making life miserable for the customers? If the short-term economic stability in the country, then it somehow seems to be unclear why there is a constant increase in prices of cars and bikes in Pakistan.
