Excise and Taxation Department Rawalpindi Division has collected over Rs 4.377 billion revenue adding on with the property, motor, professional taxes, excise fee and entertainment duties in most of the four districts of the division during 2017-18. As per according to the details, the timeline of the provincial government had fixed over Rs 4.185 billion revenue target for the department of the Rawalpindi division adding with the Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock districts for the last financial year.
The Excise and Taxation office Rawalpindi source had unveiled the notification that the APP that on the whole 105 percent target has achieved during the fiscal year. The department collected from wide range of the levies adding on with the Rs 6,300,661, Entertainment duty, Rs 1,499,092,208 Excise Duty, Rs 1,153,615,188 Motor Vehicle Tax, Rs 75,646,697, Professional Tax, Rs 1,429,623,380 Property Tax and Rs 21,329,265 Tax on Luxury Houses. The department has been successful regarding collecting with the 22 percent extra to the target of Excise Duty and 98 percent Property tax target during the period.
The department had often earned with almost over Rs 3.804 billion during the 2016-17 financial year. In the meanwhile condition, regarding giving the citizens with comfort, the Department of Excise and Taxation Office Rawalpindi has started second shift here to collect a token tax from vehicles.
Excise and Taxation Officer (Motor) Amjad Ali Khan and Assistant ETO Sohail Shahzad informed the APP that the vehicle owners who would deposit the token tax for the sake of the next financial year 2018-19 before July 31 can avail the range of the 10 percent rebate. Sohail Shahzad has further informed that the individual counters have been set up at the Excise and Taxation Office particularly to facilitate on with the government servants.
The bar will remain open from 3 PM to 6 PM. Excise and Taxation Department of Rawalpindi has on the whole collected taxes from different sectors, including the automobile sector, and hence generated an accumulated sum of over PKR 4.377 billion in the form of revenue in the last Fiscal Year 2017-18. The excise and taxation department registered 24,899 bikes, as well as 1317 vehicles, 367 diesel vehicles as in the duration of the last three months.
